Friday 6/27/08 Braves 4 – Blue Jays 0
With another make-shift line-up for the Braves, Bobby Cox needed a solid outing from Jair Jurrjens on Friday night against the Blue Jays. Instead, he got a great outing from the young rookie, who improved his team best record to 8-3. Jurrjens pitched eight shut-out innings, giving up only three hits and dropping his ERA to 2.94.

Is Jurrjens our ace or Tim Hudson?
Both have been phenomenal this year and Huddy’s getting the lack of run support Smoltzies suffered from last year. Think how many wins Tim would have if he got some of those one runners back?
Great win tonight and great to see Gonzo get another lights out ninth.
Jurrjens is for real in my book and I don’t miss Edgar that much any more oddly enough.

I really liked your blog with the Jair Jurrjens item. I think Jurrjens could be a hall-of-famer.
I try to follow as much MLB news as I can from Caracas, Venzuela.
